Ten persons associated with the Lagos State House in Marina, the official residence of the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, have tested positive for COVID-19.
Professor Akin Abayomi, Lagos State Commissioner for Health, disclosed this on his Twitter page on Thursday.
This revelation no doubt raises concern over the general health conditions of the Lagos House staff as well as others relatively connected with it.
Prof. Abayomi noted that Sanwo-Olu and his wife have tested negative three times for the virus.
In the light of efforts being put in place to curtail spread of the coronavirus, daily confirmed cases have continue to increase much severely since the federal government eased the lockdown.
As at May 6, 2020, the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos state have risen to 1324 with 33 deaths and 358 discharged.
Prof. Abayomi tweet’s reads, “However, 10 persons associated with Lagos State House in Marina have tested positive to #COVID19.
“On behalf of @followlasg, I therefore implore you all to continue to embrace the #MaskUpLagos initiative and observe all precautionary measures such as physical distancing, hand washing and other personal hygiene.
“All directives on easing lockdown in Lagos State remain in force.
“It is our collective responsibility to do all we can to stop the spread of #COVID19 #ForAGreaterLagos.”
