Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has granted leniency to 31 inmates as the world welcome year 2024.
The governor who delivered his new year good will message to the people of Taraba State on Monday, said the pardon granted to the inmates is the exercise of prerogative of power on him.
“In the spirit of renewal and progress, I am pleased to announce that, in the exercise of my prerogative of power, we shall be granting clemency to 31 deserving inmates.”
Kefas stressed that the year 2024 has usher in progress, therefore, all the 168 Wards across the 16 local government of Taraba State are for every individuals.
“Every citizen across the 168 wards is an integral part of our collective journey towards prosperity.”
He reiterated that, his leadership is resolute and to ensure the dividends of democracy has reached the people,.
“My administration is resolute in ensuring that the dividends of governance are felt by the people.
Our government is truly a government by the people, of the people, and the people”
Kefas further explained that, the security challenges affecting the citizens of the Taraba State will be properly address, and promised to make the state safe heaven for all sectors.
“the security challenges that have touched the lives of some of our citizens is a constitutional responsibility that we take seriously
In the coming months of the year, we will redouble our efforts to make Taraba a safer haven for all.”
He said leadership is a United forces therefore together his administration will strive,”Together, we shall overcome these challenges and ensure that our state thrives in peace and harmony.
As we embark on this new chapter, let us foster unity, embrace progress and work hand in hand for the betterment of Taraba State.” He said.
