Six persons were, on Monday, arraigned before an Oyo State High Court in Ibadan over alleged armed robbery.
The six defendants are: Kadir Aderemi, Olawoyin Shina, Muyideen Faleke, Muyideen Ayoade, Ibrahim Ambali and Taiye Shittu.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that they are facing charges ranging from conspiracy to armed robbery.
The state Prosecution Counsel, Mr Adeola Ayinde, told the court that the defendants and others at large, armed with guns and other dangerous weapons, robbed Funmilayo Agboade and Mutiat Gbolade of their cell phones and N92,000 cash.
He said that the defendants also robbed Jelili Rafiu and Nasrudden Ibrahim of their Bajaj motorcycles, valued at N800,000.
The prosecutor said that the defendants, armed with dangerous weapons, also robbed one Abdul Bashit of his iPad, valued at N45,000 and N6,000 cash.
He said that the offences were committed around 2:30 pm. and 3:30 pm. at Omilabu, Odingbo area of Ibadan, on March 3, 2018 and April 8, 2018.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The prosecutor urged the court to grant him an adjournment to enable him assemble all his witnesses.
NAN reports that the defendants were represented by Messrs Timileyin Olayinwola and Temitope Olayinka.
Justice Omolara Adeyemi adjourned the case till Feb. 9, for the commencement of hearing on the matter. (NAN)
