The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has concluded a two-day Digital Citizenship Training for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Lagos State.
Representing the General Manager, LASODA, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, at the opening ceremony, the Head of Department, Monitoring, Evaluation and Orientation, Dr. Funmi Adekola, appreciated the NCC for the laudable initiative, noting that it advances digital inclusion and ensures that no one is left behind in the digital age.
“We particularly commend the Nigerian Communications Commission for engaging stakeholders and ensuring that Persons with Disabilities are deliberately included in its digital empowerment agenda. We also appreciate Messrs. Fornido Development Limited for their role in coordinating and delivering this important training, and we look forward to seeing the knowledge gained translate into tangible opportunities for the participants,” she added.
The training, held from 9th to 10th September 2026 at The Cordis Hotel, Ashabi Cole Street, off Agidingbi Road, Alausa, Ikeja, brought together 100 Persons with Disabilities to acquire practical digital skills, promote responsible digital participation, and enhance opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and socio-economic inclusion.
The training covered key aspects of digital citizenship, equipping participants with relevant knowledge and skills to navigate the digital space safely, responsibly and effectively.
At the end of the training, participants were presented with certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the programme.
