Sokoto State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Hayatu Shaffa has presented cheques totaling ₦14,638,918.76 to the families and beneficiaries of late police officers who lost their lives in a Tove service to the nation.
The presentation is part of the welfare initiatives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, aimed at providing support to the families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Speaking during the presentation, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Hayatu Shaffa reaffirmed the commitment of IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to the welfare of police personnel and their families, adding the sacrifices made by officers in the service to the nation will not be forgotten.
CP Shaffa appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for his continued commitment to the welfare of police officers and the families of fallen heroes, noting that the financial assistance will provide meaningful support to the beneficiaries during a difficult period.
In their appreciation, families of the fallen officers profoundly thanked the Inspector-General of Police and the Sokoto Commissioner of Police for the gesture, adding its demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued concern for the families of its fallen officers.
A statement by the Sokoto Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Ahmed Rufa’i quoted CP Shaffa, as assuring that the police remain committed to prioritising the welfare of its personnel and honouring the sacrifices of officers, who paid the ultimate price in the service of their fatherland.
