Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Obafemi Hamzat, has visited the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, to celebrate his birthday and seek his counsel on the future of Lagos.
Hamzat was accompanied by the APC deputy governorship candidate, Princess Damilola Sonayon James, and members of the party’s 2027 Lagos Campaign Council during the visit.
The team honoured Oyedepo on his special day while appreciating his contributions to leadership, education, mentorship and human development.
Sharing details of the visit on X, Hamzat said they also listened to the cleric’s thoughts and sought his advice on issues concerning the growth and development of Lagos State.
“We celebrated with him on his special day while listening to his thoughts and seeking his counsel on the future of Lagos. I value his wisdom and the perspective he brings to leadership and service,” Hamzat wrote.
The APC governorship candidate said his team remains committed to sustaining the progress recorded in Lagos while working towards achieving more for residents of the state.
“We are focused on building on the progress we have made and creating an even brighter future for Lagos. There is much more to do and we will continue to do it with purpose and a genuine commitment to our people,” he added.
Bishop Oyedepo, who leads one of Nigeria’s largest Christian organisations, is also known for his investments in education through institutions such as Covenant University and Landmark University, as well as his influence in mentorship and community development.
The visit comes as political parties prepare for the 2027 elections, with Lagos remaining one of the country’s most politically significant states due to its economic importance and population strength.
Hamzat, who is the current Lagos State deputy governor, has continued to highlight continuity, development and service as key priorities in his political engagements ahead of the election.
