By JACOB KUBEKA, Abuja –
A twitter war started by the Chairperson of the Board of Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST), Mrs. Maimuna Abubakar, against the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) over the appropriation of Stamp Duty fees, has earned her severe criticism from the public and the tax agency.
It all started on August 2 when Mrs. Abubakar, in a series of tweets via her official handle @redf_nig, under a a harshtag #JusticeFirNipost, launched her campaign, alleging that FIRS had stolen the mandate of NIPOST.
She began with the tweet: “I am worried for NIPOST, having sleepless night because of NIPOST, we need the general public to come to our aid, FIRS stole our mandate..#justicefornipost,” followed by “NIPOST revenue Stamps since colonial era #justicefornipost.”
