Thousands of sympathizers gathered to pay their last respect to the lawmaker representing Dass Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Musa Baraza, who was killed at his residence late Thursday night.
The Clerk of the Assembly, Umar Gital, who speake in a telephone interview with our Correspondent, said the former Lawmaker was buried at the Dass Central burial ground, in accordance to Islamic rites.
He said the funeral prayers were led by the Chief Imam of Dass Central Mosque.
He said that the Speaker led other Members of the Assembly to attend the final interment of the late lawmaker.
Gital said that the state government delegation was led by the Commissioner for Commerce and Insdustry, Mohammed Sadiq, who is also from Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
“After the burial, the RT. Hon. Speaker led other Members to the Palace of the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Biliyaminu Othman, on a condolence.
“Then, the Rt. Hon. Speaker also led the Members to the deceased’s village, Baraza, on a condolence visit. They also paid a condolence visit to the Village Head,” he said.
The Clerk said that the State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Uba Nana, also was in attendance with some of his party officials.
