The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday announced that it has registered 58 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 163,388.
As at Tuesday (6th April, 2021), the public health agency recorded no COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,058 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, noting that 58 new cases are reported from 11 states, including: – Lagos (32), Kaduna (5), Enugu (4), Kano (4), Edo (3), FCT (3), Osun (3), Abia (1), Bauchi (1), Gombe (1), and Rivers (1)
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 163,388 confirmed cases, out of which 153,630 had been discharged.
The NCDC said that there were now 7,700 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,803,117 persons infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
