The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday announced that it has registered 84 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 163,736.
As at Saturday, 10 April, 2021, the public health agency recorded only one (1) COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,060 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, noting that 84 new cases were reported from 13 states, including: – Lagos (26), Akwa Ibom (16), Rivers (10), Ebonyi (9), Abia (6), Kano (6), Osun (3), Bauchi (2), Delta (2), Edo (1), Jigawa (1), Kaduna (1), and Ogun (1)
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 163,736 confirmed cases, out of which 154,098 had been discharged.
The NCDC said that there were now 7,578 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,803,117 persons infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
