The Khadimiyya for Justice and Development Initiative (KJDI) says it has procured assorted foodstuffs for distribution to over 10,000 less privileged persons in Kebbi.
Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar-Jombali, Publicity Secretary of the NGO, made this known in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
He said that the foundation procured the assorted foodstuffs in collaboration with Kadi Malami, to mitigate the hardship faced by the less privileged and vulnerable persons as they observe the Ramadan fast.
“In order to ensure equitable distribution of the items, the foundation has constituted a distribution committee, comprised of people of high calibre that will oversee the distribution across all the nooks and crannies of the state”.
“The foundation has the instructions of its founder, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, SAN, to target the disabled, orphans, widows and the less privileged in the society in addition to other vulnerable groups”.
“This year’s distribution will be conducted down to local governments and wards, hence the collaborative effort with Aisha Abubakar Malami Center for Women Development and Al-Iman Charity Foundation to ensure all the targeted beneficiaries receive their package at their door steps,” he said.
Abubakar-Jombali said the annual gesture was in fulfilment of the founder’s vision of bringing smiles to the faces of the most vulnerable, especially “in a time like this when most of them face difficulties in getting ends meet.” (NAN).
