President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in grief over the passing of former member of the National Working Committee (NWC), Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, who served as Vice Chairman, North West.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina, President Buhari condoled with family members, friends and political associates of the party stalwart, who served the country as Minister of Sports and Youth Development, and played a prominent role in the creation and sustenance of the party.
“The President believes Alhaji Abdulkadir’s humility, maturity and penchant for facilitating reconciliation among members will be sorely missed at a time the APC is rebuilding and repositioning to deliver on its promises, urging members to always remember and project same legacies of putting the country first,” the statement said.
President Buhari prayed that the almighty God would receive the soul of the departed, and comfort his family.
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), also expressed shock and sadness over demise of Barrister Inuwa Abdulkadir, who was the Forum’s first acting National Secretary.
National Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Emmanuel Yawe, in a statement made available to NATIONAL ACCORD in Abuja on Monday, said “we woke up at ACF today with the sad news of the death of a gentleman who played a leading role in the formative days of our forum.”
He described Abdulkadir, who was the first legal/administrative adviser of the forum and later the first acting National Secretary, as a prominent national politician who amongst others that served Nigeria in the position of Minister for Youth and Social Welfare.
“In the ACF, we remember him as a perfect gentleman, very knowledgeable and yet humble. These attributes he put to use as he nurtured the ACF in its infant days.
“We pray for the repose of his soul and the condolence of his family and close associates,” Yawe said.
