Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has paid glowing tributes to the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, on the occasion of her 60th birthday, describing her as a gift to Nigeria.
Agba, in a goodwill message on Tuesday, further described Ahmed as a workaholic, purposeful and sharply-focused public officer “whose patriotic service to country is a source of inspiration to our team in the ministry.”
According to him, “Those who aspire for higher ideals in life-both in public and private sectors- have so much to learn from my friend and sister, Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, whose life exemplifies selflessness, commitment and fidelity in service.
“Working with her these past ten months, especially on achieving the January to December 2020 budget cycle, the revised version of the 2020 budget, the various committees in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and on the national development plans, has been quite exciting, fulfilling and reassuring.
“It is, therefore, a thing of joy to remember ‘Madam Zainab’, as we fondly call her in our ministry, as she strikes diamond, today, in her journey of life.
“I join family members, associates and other well-wishers in rejoicing with her and praying for good health and more wisdom as she continues to effectively perform her role as our country’s ‘Chancellor of the Exchequer’.”
