PATRICK ABANG, Calabar –
The All Progressive Congress (APC) has won the Saturday’s byelection for Yala/ Ogoja Federal Constituency byelection in Cross River State.
The APC candidate, Jude Ngaji, was declared winner by The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after his party scored 22,778 votes to defeat his rival Mike Usibe of People’s Democratic party (PDP) who scored 20, 590 votes.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker, representing Bekwara/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency, Hon. Legor Idagbo has congratulated the candidate of the APC, Jude Ngaji for his victory in Saturday’s byelection.
According to the lawmaker, the victory of APC is heat warming and is reassuring to know who is tested and proven will be joining him at the Green Chamber to bring effective representation to the people.
He also congratulated the State Governor Ben Ayade whom he described as a father of many children within the APC family.
Elsewhere, In Akpabuyo State Constituency, Dr Edet Ekeng Effiom of PDP defeated his closet rival with 5,866 votes, while Ekpo Bassey of APC scored 5, 363 votes.
The candidates of Labor Party Okon Eyo Etim scored 76 votes.
Total valid votes for Akpabuyo was 11, 306, invalid votes 365, total votes cast, 11,670 in Akpabuyo State Constituecy By-election.
