ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi –
Members of the Bauchi State Executive Council including 21 Commissioners, Secretary to the Bauchi state government, Chief of Staff and Special Advisers, have been sacked by Governor, Bala Mohammed.
Governor Mohammed, who however, retained four Special Advisers, said their sack is with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, made available to journalists on Wednesday.
He said the governor directed that the Commissioners should hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries while the SSG, Chief of Staff and affected Special Advisers, are to handover to the most Senior Permanent Secretary in the Government House.
He said: “His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State Sen. Bala A. Mohammed CON (Kauran Bauchi) has approved, with immediate effect, the dissolution of members of the State Executive Council and other political appointees that include, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (COS) Government House and all Special Advisers.”
He added that those not affected are: “Special Adviser Security; Special Adviser National and State Assembly Liaison; Special Adviser Social Investment and Special Adviser Media and Publicity”.
“All Commissioners are to handover the affairs of their Ministries to their respective Permanent Secretaries, while the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (COS) Government House and other affected Special Advisers are to handover to the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Government House”.
“He equally directed that an nventory of government property be taken.”
The media aide said that the governor, while thanking the affected political appointees for their meritorious service to the State, wished them the very best in their future endeavours.
