Nigerian champions Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa were on Friday in Rabat drawn alongside defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies for the second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the draw for the competition billed for Oct. 30 to Nov. 13 in Morocco took place at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Rabat.
According to the draw, Group A has hosts ASFAR FC of Morocco), who finished third at the inaugural edition of the competition in Egypt last year.
The group also has Tanzania’s Simba Queens, Zambia’s Green Buffaloes and Liberia’s Determine Girls.
Bayelsa Queens are in Group B alongside defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa, Egypt’s Wadi Degla and the UNIFFAC representative.
NAN reports that the group matches have been scheduled for Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 for Match Day One fixtures, while Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 are for Match Day Two fixtures.
Match Day Three fixtures will hold on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6, with the group winners advancing to the semi-final matches billed for Nov. 9.
The third-place and final matches will be played on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 respectively.(NAN)
