Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state has redeemed his pledge to the families of Late Col. D.C. Bako and three other soldiers who died while defending their commander during an ambush at Wajiroko village in the outskirt of Damboa local government area of the state last Sunday .
The Governor redeemed the pledge when he visited the wife of the late Col. Bako on Wednesday in Maiduguri at the office of the Acting GOC, 7 Division Nigerian Army, Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri, Brig Gen Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim.
The Governor who consoled with the wife and family members of late Col. Bako, prayed for the repose of the late senior officer and the three other soldiers who paid their supreme prize along with him.
He described late Col. Bako as a great patriot and formidable commander.
While presenting a Cheque of 20 million naira to Mrs Bako, for the pledged he earlier made to the family, he also assured of his promise to redeem his pledge of getting the family a house is also going to be fulfilled.
He also redeemed the pledged made to three soldiers who paid the supreme price while defending their superior officer during the ambush in Damboa.
