Borno State High Powered Committee on biometric data capture and verification of secondary school teachers has been inaugurated
Inaugurating the committee at the Council Chamber Government House, the State Deputy Governor, H.E Umar Usman kadafur said the exercise would determined the specific areas that may require government special intervention in the education system that could profoundly improve the quality and output of the teaching staff.
The Deputy Governor also said that the committee is mandated to appraise the academic qualifications and other relevant credentials of teachers and any other matter the committee deems relevant to its terms of reference.
Alhaji Kadafur who noted that the committee members were selected based on their track record of experience, also urged them to justify the confidence reposed on them and complete the assignment on time.
He said the committee has been given three months to complete its assignment and submit report to the government.
Responding on behalf of the members of the high powered committee, the chairman professor Suleiman Bello commended the state government for its effort in reforming the educational sector and promised to carry out the assignment as directed on time.
