The Borno State Acting Governor, Hon. Umar Kadafur has warned contractors who have not yet commenced work at various projects sites, that their contracts would be revoked and compelled to refund the money allocated to them by the housing committee with immediate effect.
The acting governor gave the warning on Sunday, when he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the project site at Jimtilo Village along Maiduguri, Damturu Road.
Hon. Kadafur, who is also the chairman committee for the construction of 500 Housing Estate in the state, lamented that some contractors in the state were left far behind especially those who are still on Deep Pavement Cement (DPC level).

He, however, appealed to the site engineers to improve on strict monitoring and supervision of the project and report to him any problem they might have come across for immediate solution.
The acting governor also commended the members of the committee and site engineers for ensuring quality and standard in all the projects e executed in the state.

Some of the committee members who accompanied the Deputy Governor during the inspection visit include: Hon. Sugun Mai Mele, Engineer Yuguda Sale Bungas and Hon. Modu Walama as well as Permanent secretary Ministry of Housing and other administrative staff of the committee among others.
