By CALLISTUS OFFOR, Abuja-
Presidential aide, Daniel Bwala has fired back at Nasir El-Rufai, former Kaduna governor, over his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In a post on his official X handle @BwalaDaniel, Bwala questioned El-Rufai’s motive for joining the SDP, suggesting that the ex-governor’s move was driven by “inordinate ambition” rather than any ideological or progressive principles.
He said: “Senior, @elrufai . I read the news today that you resigned from APC to join SDP. Well I have nothing against you because you exercised your constitutional right.
Bwala noted that El-Rufai’s decision to associate with “sore losers” in the SDP would not be enough to unseat President Bola Tinubu, whom El-Rufai has vowed to challenge in the 2027 presidential election.
The presidential aide emphasized that El-Rufai’s defection would be scrutinized in the coming days, and Nigerians would be reminded of the ex-governor’s past actions and their consequences.
“However, the MOTIVE is what we would interrogate in the coming days and remind Nigerians that you are not a phenomenal that emerge like a clap of thunder out of a blue sky.
“We would intellectually remind you that associating with sore losers to unseat the incumbent is not an IDEOLOGY, neither is it PROGRESSIVISM; It is simply an inordinate AMBITION, that is destined to fail”, he said.
