The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor, says the presidential directive to shoot-at-sight anyone with an AK-47 rifle is very clear and must be enforced.
General Irabor stated this in Asaba while addressing newsmen after a courtesy visit to Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa at Government House.
He said the proliferation of illegal arms in the country posed a threat to the nation’s corporate existence.
The Chief of Defence Staff stressed that Nigeria as a country forbade illegal use of arms, and warned that anyone found with such weapons was an enemy of the state and would be treated as such.
General Irabor commended Governor Okowa for his support to the Armed Forces and other security agencies in the state.
Governor Okowa who congratulated the CDS on his appointment and promotion, urged him to do more to secure the country.
