China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) has arrested Wang Yong, former vice-chairman of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, for suspected bribe-taking, the SPP said on Thursday.
Wang’s case was transferred to procuratorial authorities for criminal investigation and possible prosecution following a probe by the National Supervisory Commission, the SPP said.
He has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and removed from public office over serious violations of party discipline and laws, it said.
Further handling of the case is underway, the SPP added. (Xinhua/NAN)
