The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, has called on christians in the state to continue building bonds of brotherhood and mutual trust with people of other faiths in order to bring Nigeria out of the quagmire it is currently in.
Suleiman, who is also the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, made the call in his Christmas goodwill message to Christians which was signed and made available to journalists on Sunday by his Spokesperson, Abdul Burra, entitled: CHRISTMAS: BAUCHI SPEAKER FELICITATES WITH CHRISTIANS.
He felicitated with christians on the occasion of 2021 Christmas celebration, expressing hope that this year’s Christmas will be filled with happiness, brotherhood and love.
He enjoined all christians to continue showing compassion, patriotism, honesty and love as preached by Jesus.
Burra said: “According to him, apart from the festive nature of Christmas, it is another period of sober reflection on the successes and failures of our lives, communities, states and nation with a view to strengthening our faith, contribution to peace and nation building and finding solutions to so many problems bedeviling us as individuals and as people of Nigeria.
“Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman therefore enjoined christians to continue building bond of brotherhood and mutual trust with other faiths in order to bring out the country out of problems of insecurity, poverty, health, corruption among others.”
He said that Suleiman commended Governor Bala Mohammed, for being proactive in “securing the state from all sorts of security and social problems and providing unprecedented infrastructural transformation which put the State above its peers.”
He added that, “the Speaker, while urging christians to continue praying for the Governor and all leaders at the state and national levels, prayed that the celebrations will end with all sorts of fun and happiness.”
