The Bauchi state Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, will hold a public parley with stake holders in the state in order to tackle corrupt practices in the operation and management of the payment of salaries of workers in the state.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Bauchi State governor on Media, Muhktar Gidado, stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Wednesday.
He said that the parley was necesitated by the concern which the state goverment observed with the payment of salaries in the state.
According to him, these complaints affect the state as well as local government salaries and pension administration.
He said: “To demonstrate his usual leadership style and in the spirit of deepening stake-holding in governance, His Excellency Sen. Bala A. Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, will hold a public parley with stakeholders in the payment of salaries and pensions as part of his renewed strategy of tackling corrupt practices in the operation and management of the payroll.
“The Public Parley has become necessary in view of the ongoing insinuations among members of the public including the social media users in respect of payment of salaries in the State.
“The public parley is to afford the Governor the opportunity to interact physically with relevant stakeholders with a view to getting to the root of the whole matter and to bring to an end all fraudulent activities in the management of the payroll system.
Giddado said that the public parley which will hold on Thursday, 10th September, 2020 by 10:00am at the Command Guest House, Bauchi will be transmitted live on all the Radio stations in the state.
He said that it will be attended by members of the State Executive Council, officials from the Ministry of Finance, office of the Accountant General, Chairman of the BVN Verification Committee, DYNATECH Consultants and Cabinet Committee on the Payroll .
Others are Leaders of the organised Private Sector, the leadership of the Labour Unions, Civil Society Organizations as well as the leadership of Polical Parties.
Permanent Secretaries, Heads of MDAs, Directors of Finance/Accounts, Directors of Personnel and Pensions in relevant MDAs, Professionals in financial management have also been invited to attend the parley.
