A Senior Magistrate Court sitting at Uke in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has issued an arrest warrant against the Commissioner for Works and Rural Development Engr. Idris Mohammed, for failure to appear before the court on the 31st of October, 2022.
Engr. Mohammed is standing trial for offences of criminal conspiracy, trespass and mischief in an action filed by Engr. Idris Aliyu Bori and one other.
The commissioner and 5 others are accused of trespassing into a land of the complainants and caused of mischief and intimidation..
The counsel for the complainant, Barrister Miss. N. Emmanuel, prayed that the bail earlier granted to the Commissioner be revoked and arrest warrant be issued against him as well as a criminal summons to the surety to show cause why he should not forfeit the bail bond.
Meanwhile, Counsel for the defendants, Barrister G.O Idu opposed the application for the arrest.
However, the presiding Magistrate, Aisha Abdullahi. in her ruling upheld the application of the complainant counsel and ordered for the immediate arrest of the commissioner for disobedience to the court
The case has been adjourned to the 19th November, 2022.
