An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 43-year-old man, Ayodeji Oderinu, in Kirikiri Custodial Centre for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s daughter.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O. A Layinka, ordered that the defendant should be remanded in Kirikiri Custodial Centre until Dec. 22 pending the Director of Public Prosecution’s advice.
The defendant, who is unemployed, resides in Igando area of Lagos.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, ASP. Ezekiel Ayorinde, told the court that the offence was committed on Sept. 25 at the defendant’s resident.
Ayorinde said that the defendant lured the victim, a 12-year-old girl into his room on false pretences of sending her on an errand.
The prosecutor also said that the defendant shut the door of his room at the girl and defiled her; the girl thereafter told her mother.
Ayorinde said that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.(NAN)
