The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has registered 112 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 161,651
As at Saturday (20th, March 2021), the public health agency recorded 3 COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,030 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov.
The 130 new cases are reported from 14 states to include: Lagos (35), FCT (22), Ondo (17), Kaduna (9), Ebonyi (9), Bauchi (6), Kebbi (4), Delta (2), Osun (2), Jigawa (2), Borno (1), Edo (1), Kano (1), and Nasarawa(1)
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 161,651 confirmed cases, out of which 147,775 had been discharged.
It has also recorded 70 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines
The NCDC said that there were now 11,846 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,684,305 persons since the outbreak of the infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
