James Imhanlahimi, the FCT cricket team coach, says he is optimistic of a good outing for his team in the National Under -17 Male North Central Qualifiers which begins on Saturday.Imhanlahimi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja that he was optimistic because the team had prepared well enough for the event.
”I have been able to assemble young lads who I know can perform well —— in terms of bowling, batting and fielding.“Before now, the boys have been exposed to rubber balls and bats. It was only recently that we started training with the proper cricket bats and balls.”So, we hope the development don’t count against us.“However, I am looking forward to a great experience and outing for the boys,” he said.NAN reports that FCT will contend with Plateau, Kogi and Kwara at the two-day tournament. The best team will then be selected to represent the region at the finals of the tournament in February.(NAN)
