The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cross River Agrotourism Festival and International Expo (CRATFEX), Asu Abang has said the intention of CRAFEX is building stronger food system and fight against hunger in Nigeria.
The CEO stated at official unveiling of2024 CRATFEX, which was held on Friday at Archovino Hotel Calabar, Cross River State capital.
CRATFEX is scheduled to take place from August 9th to 17th, 2024, with the theme “Building stronger food systems to strengthen the resilience in the fight against hunger in Nigeria“.
Mr. Abang said CRATFEX aims to be a transformative experience, with a sub-theme of “Harmonizing agriculture, arts, culture, and tourism for sustainable development”.
He said the event promises to be a groundbreaking gathering that will bring together diverse sectors to promote sustainable growth and development in Nigeria.
“I welcome you all to the official unveiling of the Cross River Agrotourism Festival and International Expo, fondly known as CRATFEX”
“Today marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to harness the rich agricultural and tourism potentials of Cross River State”
“CRATFEX is not just a festival, but a celebration of our heritage, an acknowledgment of our farmers’ hard work, and a showcase of the boundless opportunities that lie within the fusion of agriculture and tourism”, he said.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Abubakar Ewa said 90 percent of cultural events in Cross River State are Agricultural based.
Ewa commended the Organizers of the event for the vision which is cultural base.
