The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has approved the appointment of Mr Femi Olubodun as the Olisa of Akure kingdom.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Akure by Mr Michael Adeyeye, Chief Press Secretary to the traditional ruler.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the previous holder of the title, Chief Raymond Olusoga, died on Feb. 12, 2017 in a car accident at Kwali area of Abuja
According to Adeyeye, the appointment is based on favourable consideration by the Olisa Orubuloye family house and the unanimous resolution of the Olisa Ogelemodu family.
“His Majesty will, at a later date, perform the official installation of Senior High Chief Femi Olubodun as the 18th Olisa of the ancient city of Akure.
“The new Olisa is a descendant of Ogelemodu and great grandson of Otutuleyowo, the 8th Olisa of Akure kingdom,” he said.
NAN reports that Olubodun is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Marsun Mat International Limited based in the United Kingdom.
The royal father wished the new Olisa good health and God’s guidance. (NAN)
