Retired Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police, Sholla Davies, of zone five, comprising Edo, Delta and Bayelsa, has charged policemen to always discharge their official duties without fear or favour.
This is contained in a statement on Wednesday, by ASP Momoh Tijani, Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), zone 5.
Davies gave the charge in his valedictory speech in the zonal command headquarters, Benin.
He said that this was because policemen were meant to serve the public.
He also enjoined them to shun all forms of corruption as it would only bring shame and disgrace to them in the long run.
Tijani also said that DCP Emmanuel Effiom, in charge of Finance and Administration in the zone while responding on behalf of the entire officers and men of the zone advised the men to emulate their seniors in their professionalism.
He congratulated the former AIG on his successful pulling out from the force and wished him a blissful retirement.
Tijani also explained that Davies retired from the force on Feb. 1, after 35 years of meritorious service. (NAN)
