A renowned Islamic Cleric and Scholar, Sheikh khalifa Aliyu Ahamd Abulfatihi has appealed to the federal government to control prices of goods and services in the country.
He also called on the government to improve on its constitutional responsibility of providing security to lives and property of its citizenry in all the nooks and crannies of the country as a result abject of poverty and unemployment leading to high level of criminalities and other social vices.
The Islamic Cleric, made the plead on Wednesday in his sermon and special prayers during the 2023 annual Eid Maulud festival held at Sheilh Ahmad Abulfatihi Madinatu Zawiya Maiduguri.
He further commended the federal government for its untiring efforts towards improving the daunting economy and security situation.
He urged government to sustain its efforts in serving the people diligently, transparent and being responsible as well accountable to the people as custodians of public resources.
Khalifa enjoined people to also have the fear of Gid in their dealings and respect their leaders and constituted authorities by being obedient and loyal.
According to him, “God created us to live in peace, unity and live with one another irrespective of our differences, tribes, religions, culture and traditions for a purpose. So, we must endure, accept , love and embrace one another to live a better life, stop hating and blackmailing one another”.
Khalifa further prayed for peace in the country and world at large, unity among all races, religions and tribes while praying God to continue to guide, protect and show wisdom to our leaders to continue to do the right thing.
He also called on the federal government to endeavour to create job opportunities for the teeming unemployment youths who have graduated from tertiary institutions within and outside the country.
The cleric appreciated the leadership support of Governor Babagana Zulum, the traditional, religious leaders as well as the business community and NGOs in alleviating the sufferings of the people and improving the living condition of the downtrodden in the society, especially the IDPs and refugees.
The Islamic Cleric commended the Nigerian military and other security agencies as well as the vigilante CJTF and hunters for their efforts in providing security to the people and the restoration of peace in the state.
He thanked the organizers and sponsors of the event and prayed for journey mercy to all, especially those who travelled from far away Central Africa, Suand, Niger, Chad, Mali, Cameroon, Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Mauritanian and Morrocco to witness the significant event.
Khalifa encouraged the Muslim faithfu to embrace the teachings and practices of the Messenger of God (SAW) such as love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which were exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
