The Founder and President of Al-Ansar Foundation, Dr. Mohammed Kyari Dikwa has charged participants of the 18th Northern Zonal Accountants Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to maintain trust, transparency abd accountability in both public and private financial institutions.
He also called on the assembly of accountants, auditors, and financial experts from the region to examine the pivotal role of accountability and transparency in the management of the Nation’s resources under a democratic dispensation.
Dr. Dikwa stated this at the conference, with a theme, “Forging a Future of Trust: Empowering New Democratic Administration to Lead with Accountability and Transparency”, which was held in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
He also gave insights and practical solutions to the professionals on how to operate in their respective organization based on his wealth of experience in Public Financial Management,.
He guided them on strategies and best accounting practices which is aimed at instilling and enhancing accountability and transparency in public sector accounting towards becoming catalysts for positive change in their organisations and the country at large by way of contributing actively to a more trustworthy financial ecosystem.
The 18th Zonal Accountants Conference, which was organized by ICAN, is an invaluable seminar for the professionals to stay abreast on emerging dynamics in both public and private sectors of financial governance..
Dikwa, who is a former Accountant General of the Federation and retired Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance and onetime Borno State Accountant General extensively elaborated on technical importance of public accountability and transparency in public and private sectors .
