The newly appointed Chief of Defence Intelligence, CDI, Major General Samuel Adebayo, has taken over the leadership of the Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA.
The former CDI, Air Vice Marshal Muhammed Usman, had on Monday handed over the leadership of the agency to his Deputy, Major General Gbolahan Oyefesobi, following his retirement from service.
General Oyefesobi while handing over to the new CDI assured that the agency had committed and dedicated personnel that would assist the new CDI to achieve his mandate.
General Adebayo thanked God and President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment and promised to sustain as well as build on the achievements of the agency under his predecessor.
The new chief of Defence Intelligent who is now the 21st CDI was a former director at the agency and the Chief of Military Intelligence for the Nigerian Army before his current appointment.
