Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has constituted an 18-man committee for the forthcoming 2023 Nwonyo fishing festival in Ibi Local Government Council of the state.
Governor Kefas in a press statement released by his Chief Press Secretary and issued to NATIONAL ACCORD on Sunday in Jalingo, said the committee includes top government functionalists, traditional and spiritual leaders as well as elected and political appointees.
The statement, further, stressed that the Taraba State Deputy Governor, Alh. Abdullahi Aminu Alkali is the chairman of the committee.
While Hon. Joseph Titus Nagombe, Commissioner for Heritage and Eco Tourism will serve as the Vice Chairman, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Eco Tourism as Secretary.
Other members of the committee are, HRM. Manu Ishaku Adda Ali Matakitwen, (The Aku Uka of Wukari) who is the spiritual and traditional leader as member.
The committee also include Chairman House Committee on Culture and Tourism, Taraba State House of Assembly, and Commissioner of Finance, Dr. Sarah Enoch Adi, as members, also Dr. Peter George, Commissioner of Commerce and Industry as member.
The statement stressed that all appointed honourable Commissioners from the Southern Taraba State Zone are member, as well as Dr. Babangida Hassan, the Permanent Secretary Bureau of Local Government, Traditional and Chieftaincy Affairs.as member.
Mrs. Christy Mark Useni (MD/ Chairman Tourism Development Board, member, and His Excellency, Armaya’u Dauda Abubakar, member.
The approved committee also include all members of Taraba State House of Assembly from the Southern Taraba State zone and all elected National Assembly members from Southern Taraba Zone.
Rev. Dr. Isaiah Magaji Jerapye, President CRC-N/ CAN chairman Taraba State, Mal. Rabilu Muktar, Chief Imam, Ibi Central Mosque, Ibi Local Government Council, and HRH. Sanvala Varzon Shimbura, (Gara of Donga).
Other members of the standing committee are, HRH. Abubakar Salihu Danbawuro (III) Chief of Ibi, and all elected local government chairmen from Southern Taraba State zone are members respectively.
