Nasarawa Stae Governor, Abdullahi Sule has commissioned a mullt-million naira ultra-model skills acquisition centre at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Keffi with a call on corps members to take the training seriously as white collar jobs are no more available..
The skills acquisition centre which comprised of bakery, garment and table water industries were commissioned at an event that took place at the Magaji Dan Yamusa Camp, Keffi LGA of the state.
Governor Sule expressed satisfaction with the performances of the NYSC Director General Ibrahim Shuaibu, whom he said has reinvigorated the dreams of the founding fathers of the NYSC scheme.
He said the projects being executed are in line with his administration’s policy of skills acquisition and industrialization designed to engender youth empowerment to make them self reliant.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Director General of the NYSC, Major General Ibrahim Shuaibu, said his administration has witnessed the establishment of viable projects and has resuscitated moribund ones which has enable them generate over one billion naira as revenue to the Federal Government.

According to the DG, the bakery, the garment industry and the table water factories are capable of producing sachet and disposable bottles while the bread bakery is capable of producing for corp members and the general public.
He further noted that the execution of the projects are in line with the policy thrust of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration aimed at ensuring food security for the nation.
In their good will messages, the Managing Director of Access Bank and the Executive Director of Capital Assurance Mrs. Bola Odukale expressed the hope that the skills acquisition centres will propel youths to think outside getting government jobs.
They assured that their partnership with the NYSC will make Corp members become employers of labour
In their remarks, the Emir of Lafia, His Royal Majesty, Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd) and the Emir of Keffi, Chindu Yamusa both extolled the leadership qualities of the DG of NYSC and expressed the hope that his tenure will bring more dividends to the people of Nigeria.
The Chairman, governing council of the NYSC, Fatima Baba Abubakar, said Major. Gen. Shuaibu has done well to rekindle the dreams of the founding fathers of the NYSC and urged him to keep up the struggle.
