Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule
The Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State (SSG), Dr Labaran Magaji, says Gov. Abdullahi Sule will leave the state far better than he met it in 2019 after the end of his tenure in 2027.
He urged the people of the state to expect the best transition moment in 2027 by Sule considering his developmental strides.
Magaji stated this when he led other management team of his office to appear before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly’s Committee on Public Accounts to assess the SSG’s Office 2027 budget implementation on Thursday in Lafia.
He said that the recent workshop organised by the state government for public servants in Abuja was to inject new ideas and knowledge on public servants for good governance in the State.
”You can see that, Sule had recently organised a workshop for pubic servants in order to inject into them new ideas for good governance.
”With what he is doing, the people of the state should expect the best from him in his remaining years as Governor.
” By God’s grace, with what the governor had done in the past and with the speed he is going, he will leave Nasarawa State far better than he met it when he took over.
“We will have the best form of transition moment in the history of the state.
”The governor is doing great, both infrastructurally and administratively among others,” the SSG said.
Magaji appreciated the speaker and the committee for the support his office is enjoying from them and called for its sustenance.
He assured of coordinating and monitoring the implementation of government policies and programmes in the state.
”As SSG, I will ensure that government policies and programmes are effectively implemented across various government agencies and departments” he said.
The SSG also advised political office holders seeking elective positions in 2027 against early campaigns.
” I want to advise that political office holders seeking elective positions in 2027 should not distract Sule and the government with their campaigns.
“Because it is still time for governance, our focus, Sule’s focus is not 2027 but governance,” Magaji added.
He called on all government MDAs to brace up to deliver the best, saying that their activities would be strictly monitored.
“I have a different vision, I came with different focus and blueprint to change the narratives, make a difference in the system,” he said.
Earlier, Mr Solomon Akwashiki, the Chairman of the committee commended Sule for organising workshop for public servants for good governance.
He also appreciated the governor for keying into different policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
Akwashiki said that the budget assessment exercise was to know the level of implementation of the SSG’s office for the first quarter.
He said, “The Rt. Hon. Speaker, Dr Danladi Jatau has directed all House Standing Committees to go and oversight on the activities of MDAs in the state.
“This exercise is not to witch hunt anybody but to ensure that what is budgeted to your office is strictly adhered to.
”What we are doing is to ensure that the right things are done for the overall development of the state.”
Akwashiki assured the SSG’s office of the committee’s support and cooperation to succeed. ( NAN)
