Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Mr. Daniel Ogoshi, a driver with Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, on Tuesday.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the driver was whisked away from the residence of his friend around 9:30 pm, at Ombi 2, Opposite College of Agric, Kwandere road Lafia, leaving behind his phone and car.
The source described the development as unfortunate, noting that he received a call around 9 pm that his brother had been taken away by the kidnappers.
According to him, the police were immediately alerted and they rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, the kidnappers had already fled with the victim.
Christopher Iyima, a media officer to the deputy governor, confirmed the incident, saying that he was informed about the situation but did not have adequate information on what had transpired.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nasarawa State, police command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, also confirmed the development and said that the police were on top of the matter.
He, however, stated that he could not comment on the issue until proper verification had been done.
