The Archbishop of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), in Kwara state, Most Reverend Israel Amoo, has called on the state government to return to the negotiating table with all stakeholders in the hijab controversy and ensure a lasting solution to the crisis.
Reverend Amoo made the call while speaking with Journalists in Ilorin.
He noted that it would be better to dialogue in resolving issues than to result to violence.
The cleric appealed to the State House of Assembly to step in and ensure peace reigns in the State of Harmony.
Reverend Amoo said that if every student has to adopt a dress code peculiar to his or her religious belief, then the word uniform will have been rubbished and become meaningless.
He however appeal to the State government, and the security agencies to demonstrate absolute neutrality and ensure peace and security prevails in the state.
