The Federal Government says it will ensure affordable healthcare services to all Nigerians, to accomplish the goal of Universal Health Coverage.
The Minister of State for Health, Dr Adeleke MamoraMinister , stated this on Tuesday, at the inauguration of some projects at the Federal Medical Centre, Katsina.
Dr Mamora said that the projects was aimed at reducing medical tourism, mortality rates, and increase revenue base of the Hospital.
In his remarks, Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, said that the state had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government to upgrade the Medical Centre to a teaching Hospital.
Chairperson, Governing Council of the Federal Medical Centre, Hajiya Hannatu Akilu, noted that the Hospital had recorded reduction in morbidity and mortality rates by 40 percent.
The Medical Director of the Centre, Dr Bello Suleiman, said that the projects inaugurated include modern Accident and Emergency Complex, Microbiology/Molecular Laboratory Complex and Emergency Paediatric Unit.
