The eleven electoral wards in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, today smiled home with the sum of five hundred thousand naira (500,000) each as palliative.
Similarly, a total of 1500 bags of 50kgs of maize and another 1500 bags of 7.5kgs of rice was distributed to the eleven electoral wards as part of palliatives by the Nasarawa State Government.
Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Council, Safiyanu Isa Andaha, disclosed this during the distribution of the second palliative to the beneficiaries in Akwanga, on Thursday.
The chairman said this is the second phase of the palliative distribution, but the people in Akwanga have benefited thrice, because the governor is from Akwanga local government area.
Safiyanu Andaha, while commending the leadership style of Governor Sule, urged beneficiaries of the palliative to make judicious use of rice and maize, as he urged them to extend the gesture to those who didn’t get it.
On his part, the state Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Yakubu Kwanta, who declared the distribution of the palliative opened, called on the beneficiaries to pray for the administration of Gov Sule.
Kwanta, assured of the readiness of Gov Abdullahi Sule, to provide more humanitarian support to people of the state to reduce the present socio-economic hardship caused by the fuel subsidy removal.
In a remark, the Chun Mada, Mr Samson Gamu Yare, represented by Chun Ngah, Alhaji Yusuf Amwe, who was overwhelmed with the gesture called on people of Akwanga and the state to pray for the governor to scale through at the appeal court.
Some beneficiaries of the second phase of the palliatives, Anthony Maicibi and Nafisa Muhammad, appreciated Governor Sule, for the support.
