Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA), Danladi Jatau, has been conferred with traditional title of Garkuwan Eggon, by the Aren Eggon, HRH Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (rtd).
Also conferred with the new traditional titles were Barrister Danladi Halilu Envulu-Anza, as Makaman Eggon and the 2023 PDP governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu, as Majen Eggon.
Justice Ahmed Ubangari-Alaku (Rtd), the Aren Eggon, who is a first-class monarch in the state, made the announcement on Saturday June 22, at his palace in Nassarawa Eggon.
Also among the 35 new traditional title holders of Eggon nation were Justice Yusuf Halilu, Danburan Eggon; ACP Hassan Jatau Anga, Sadaukin Eggon; Hon. Solomon Akwashiki, Dan Majen Eggon and others.
The royal father, said the development was informed by their loyalty and contributions to the chiefdom, palace and development of Eggon community over the years.
Some of the traditional titles were vacant following the death of the former holders and were therefore filled, while there was realignment of some titles, and new titles were added.
Hon. Solomon Akwashiki (SDP) member representing Lafia central at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, while reacting to his title as Dan Majen Eggon, thanked the royal father for finding him worthy of the new title.
Akwashiki, who is also the Minority Whip and Chairman, committee on public accountants of the assembly, assured of a cordial working relationship with the Eggon traditional council, to build his people.
