The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday said it has registered 113 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 162,388.
As at Friday (26th, March 2021), the public health agency recorded three (3) COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,039 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, said
The 113 new cases are reported from 10 states- Lagos (53), Rivers (22), Akwa Ibom (12), Kaduna (12), Ondo (6), Osun (3), FCT (2), Jigawa(1), Nasarawa (1) and Kano (1)
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 162,178 confirmed cases, out of which 148,726 had been discharged
The NCDC said that there were now 10,368 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,727,467 persons since the outbreak of the infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
