The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday said it has registered 129 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 162,891.
As at Wednesday (31st, March 2021), the public health agency recorded one (1) COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,057 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, noting that the 129 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos (46), Ondo (19), Nasarawa (14), Kaduna (11), Borno (9), Bauchi (8), Akwa Ibom (5), FCT (5), Jigawa (4), Plateau (3), Bayelsa (2), Osun (2) and Rivers (1).
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 162,891 confirmed cases, out of which 151,648 had been discharged.
The NCDC said that there were now 9,186 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,767,694 persons infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
