The management of the Northeast Youth Initiative For Development has commended the efforts and plans of His Excellency, Hon Mai Mala Buni to establish 17 Girls Day Senior Secondary school across the state.
The governor who broke the news to the general public at the 2023 Budget Presentation in Yobe State House of Assembly Damaturu was applauded by many.
In a statement signed by Amb. Comr. Dauda Muhammad Gombe, the Executive Director of Northeast Youth Initiative For Development (NEYIF) shortly after the budget presentation, commended the kind gesture of Gov. Buni for breaking the odds and described it as timely and important.
This is coming at a time when NEYIF is advocating for Girl child Education, Women and Girls right by ending gender based violence across the state and the country at large which is one of its cardinal pillars and departments of NEYIF administration.
“As the Executive Director of NEYIF, this kind gesture of establishing (7) Girls Day Secondary school across the state comes to us as timely at a time when almost many part of the country advocating and launching campaign on gender-based violence a sort of.
“I want to also commend and laud the effort of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni for making it clear of his administration’s plan to establish these schools, this has also vindicated our campaign and advocacy, we appreciate and thank Gov. Buni for this”.
