The Ogun State Police Command have commenced investigation to unravel the cause of the gas explosion at the Obasanjo library in Abeokuta, the Osun State’s capital.
Recalled that one person reportedly lost his life and another was critically injured after a gas explosion in former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Library Complex in Abeokuta.
The explosion occurred in the main event centre of the complex as technicians were servicing air conditioning units.
It followed reports of similar incidents in Ogun state – where the library is located – within a week.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun told journalists that they were investigating the four recent explosions.
“We want to really find out the cause of the explosions… It is unfortunate that rumour mongers will be peddling rumours that the incidents are bomb explosions, but they are not, they are gas explosions,” the Premium Times newspaper quoted Mr Ajogun as saying.
