Borno State Police Command has warned against the indiscriminate use of tinted glasses, spy plate numbers and blaring of sirens by unauthorized individuals and persons within Maiduguri metropolis in violation of extant traffic act.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Yusuf Mohammed gave the warning in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesman, ASP Sani Kamilu Shatambaya.
CP Mohammed warned violators to desist from such as the command would not fold its arm and allow few unpatriotic individuals flagrantly violates the law and derail the existing peace by such acts of lawlessness.
He directed all heads of departments, Area commanders, Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders to heighten level of vigilance in their respective areas of responsibilities.
“They have also been directed to collaborate closely with other security agencies to share information and intelligence and to ensure a coordinated effort in enforcing the ban and addressing any emerging threats”, he said.
The CP further stressed that anybody caught/arrested violating the directive would face the full wrath of the law.
The police boss, however, assured that the police command would not shy away from its statutory duties of enforcement of law and ensure that the rights of the citizens are not violated while assuring that the command is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residence.
