Heavy rain storm on Thursday destroyed properties worth millions of naira following a heavy down poured that lasted for more than two hours in Auta Balefiin, a suburb in Karu LGA of Nasarawa State.
Already residents of Auta Balefi in Karu LGA are counting their losses as shops, residential houses, churches and schools have been destroyed by the heavy storm.
A trade dealing in ladies clothes, simply identified as Ngozi, whose shop is located beside the Emir’s Palace, told our correspondent that the rain accompanied with heavy wind destroyed the roof of her shop.

She revealed that her clothes estimated at over five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) had been soaked and completely destroyed.
Also, a seller of a local gin popularly called Burukutu whose shop is located beside the Chief of Auta-balefi, Miss Nguseer lamented that the local drinks she prepared which worth over N200,000 have been destroyed by the rain storm.
When our correspondent visited the beans market in Auta Balefi, it was observed that the make shift stores were blown off by the heavy wind.

The traders who spoke through the market chairman, Abdulahi Maikasua, said the bags of beans stored in various shops amounting to millions of naira were destroyed.
The traders called on the government to quickly come to their aids by assisting them with cash to cushion the level of waste they have incurred
