The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday said it has registered 48 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 162,641.
As at Monday (29th, March 2021), the public health agency recorded one (1) COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,049 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, said the 48 new cases are reported from 8 states- Lagos (13), Kaduna (7), Nasarawa (7), Kano (6), Kwara (5), Ondo (4), Akwa Ibom (3), and Osun (3).
Today’s discharges according to the health agency include 28 community recoveries in Ekiti State managed in line with guidelines.
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 162,641 confirmed cases, out of which 150,466 had been discharged
The NCDC said that there were now 10,126 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,767,694 persons since the outbreak of the infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
