The Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai, Al-Amin El kanemi has appealed to his people to intensify their prayers for God to end Boko Haram Insurgency and other security challenges in the North East region and the country at large.
The Royal Father made the appeal when he led other members of the Borno Emirate Traditional Council on a routine annual sallah homage to the Governor of the State, at the Government House, Maiduguri on Thursday evening.

The royal father noted that it was the tradition of the Emirate to pay homage to the government and the people of the state during Eid -el-Fitri and Eid-el-Kabir sallah festival.
He also explained that the lingering Boko Haram insurgency in the state as well as kidnappings and banditry in other parts of the country, called for special prayers for God to restore peace in Nigeria.
“It is unfortunate that our country is witnessing killings and destruction of properties by criminals on a daily basis, and the only solution to this menace is for all of us to pray and ask God to divine intervention.” The Royal Father said.
The Shehu of Borno, also appreciated the enormous support from the Government of Prof. Babagana Zulum to the traditional institutions across the state and promised the commitment and cooperation of the traditional council members to the government and for the development of the state.
In his remark, the Acting Governor, Hon. Usman kadafur thanked the Shehu of Borno for his visit to the Government House, while assuring him of the state’s government continuous support and commitment to the promotion and development of the traditional institutions in the state, which serve as the custodians of the people and promoters of peace and harmony in the society.

He, however, commended the efforts and sacrifices of the security agents in the counter Insurgency fight against the Boko Haram terrorists, which informed the peaceful celebration of the Eid-el-Fitri celebration across the state.
